📑 Report – Community Meeting Village Sar Khan, Ghurmi, Harnai – 19–21 July 2025
“RBWRP held a community meeting in Village Sar Khan, Harnai, in July 2025 to strengthen rangeland management, climate‑smart agriculture, and women’s leadership in water governance.”
TA-RBWRP’s team of men and women in selected river sub basins sustainably and equitably manage scarce water and rangeland resources and make transition to low water use food systems.
🎯 Purpose
- Engage local communities in participatory water and rangeland governance.
- Promote climate‑smart agriculture and nursery establishment.
- Strengthen women’s leadership roles in community organizations.
Village Sar Khan situated in the area of ghurmi, Harnai, where the residents live on higher grounds in summer season and live on lower grounds in winter. The villagers doesn’t have a proper water supply, other than solar tubewells that pulls water from 250 to 300 ft., but since the villagers are poor they don’t have enough solar kits (around 50 solar plates) required to run submersible machine. Villagers have laid pipe of 2kms from Tubewell to the water tank, images are given below:
Marri Baloch residents bring Mazri bush (in Balochi it is called Peesh) available in abundance, which is why it is used as a burning fuel, make chattai, caps, wall hangings and other products. The picture of which is given below:
Villagers bring this along with other weeds, dry then and then used to burn as fire. For business purpose mostly male make various products from Mazri. In this area all type of vegetable is grown like tomatoes, chilies, onion, garlic, as the weather here is unique which support both season’s vegetables.

✅ Recommendations
- Conduct regular capacity building workshops at village level.
- Provide bilingual training materials (Urdu + English) for accessibility.
- Strengthen women’s visibility in leadership roles.
- Integrate community meeting outcomes into RBWRP’s Provincial Water Resources Master Plan.

The July 2025 community meeting in Village Sar Khan highlighted RBWRP’s commitment to inclusive governance, climate‑smart agriculture, and women’s empowerment in Balochistan. By promoting participatory decision‑making and transparent documentation, RBWRP is building pathways to resilience and sustainable development.
